Phylicia L. Moore Scholarship Fund
Dear Friends,
On, March 26, 1989, Doug & Lola Moore were blessed with a shining star who they named Phylicia Lovetta Moore. Phylicia was a bright, energetic and delightful young lady that enjoyed reading, writing basketball and school; she was a loving big sister to Christopher. Phylicia's desire was to one day become a Journalist. Unfortunately, on April 15, 2007, Phylicia's dreams came to a tragic halt. While attending a school trip to Africa, Phylicia lost her life. A senior at Teaneck High School were she obtained a 3.0 + GPA, mentored to her peers, a member of the Teaneck High School basketball team, and much more. Phylicia was an active young lady.
Phylicia's desire was to attend Spelman College in the Fall of 2007, and one day attend Columbia University in New York City for her Masters in Journalism. One will never know what Phylicia would have contributed to our society, but one does know that she brought strength to those in need, a strong belief in education, and honor, happiness, and much love to her family and friends.
GGBC, Inc. is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) corporation promoting Literacys for youth 7-17, along with the Moore Family we have come together to establish the PHYLICIA L. MOORE SCHOLARSHIP FUND for High School seniors that are graduating with a 3.0 or higher GPA, with the hopes of obtaining a degree in Journalism. This scholarship will be offered to students in the Tri-State area in the hopes that every young lady or man will have the desire to be successful and give back to their cxommunity just like Phylicia. Your Support is needed!
